Casemiro was once again among the goals as he gave United the lead in the 15th minute before also scoring their fourth goal in the 39th minute.
Alejandro Garnacho also got on the scoresheet, extending his position at the top of United’s goalscoring list for 2024/25.
Eventually, club captain and star player Bruno Fernandes returned to form with a superb double strike, so Leicester’s two goals were merely a consolation.

Even a taped knee can’t keep Garnacho down as he beat Leicester City in the spotlight at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Garnacho has scored six goals and provided four assists in his 15 games across all competitions so far this season and he has truly terrified his opponents here.
The 19-year-old Argentine created five chances to score and was always the man United looked at as a backup on the counterattack.
Van Nistelrooy will be pleased to have seen Garnacho in top form, while future new United manager Ruben Amorim will, we imagine, have been watching closely in Lisbon.
With the win, United secured a place in the quarter-finals, which will include a trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
