One of Tottenham’s star players this season has unfortunately made it into the Premier League’s worst eleven of the week.
The Spurs star has fully developed his potential
Most people would agree that Dejan Kulusevski has been Tottenham’s best player so far this season, with the Swede having become the Lilywhites’ main creative outlet since being moved to the attacking midfield role.
Such has been the 24-year-old’s rise that in just a few months he has gone from a bit of an outsider in the Tottneham system to one of the first names on Ange Postecoglou’s team sheet.
Trip to forget for Dejan Kulusevski
However, on Sunday, Kulusevski failed to live up to the high standards he has set for himself this season and struggled to make an impact in the game against Crystal Palace.
He was one of several Spurs stars to have days off as Ange Postecoglou’s men struggled to overcome a well-organized Eagles side.
Football365 have identified the worst XI of the week based on the players who had the lowest rating on Whoscored and unfortunately the Swede makes the team.
The outlet wrote of Kulusevski: “His only shot-producing action against Crystal Palace was a pass for James Maddison, who shot from 33 yards for 0.02 xG.” About seven minutes later, both players were sent off in a triple substitution, leaving Ange Postecoglou obviously didn’t think much of it.”
Tottenham’s creative struggles against Palace
So far this season, Spurs have had no problems creating chances, but the game at Selhurst Park was an exception as the away team struggled to play through Palace’s lower block.
This was undoubtedly because both Maddison and Kulusevski had off days and neither player managed to really take the game by the scruff of the neck.
