Khamzat time! “Borz” crashes into middleweight top 5, Shara Bullet cracks top 15 in latest UFC rankings update

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently updated its “official” rankings following the UFC 308 pay-per-view (PPV) event that took place last Saturday. Night (October 26, 2024) at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Big winners from last weekend’s martial arts extravaganza included Khamzat Chimaev and Shara Magomedov, both of whom made significant progress in the 185-pound class.

Chimaev broke Robert Whittaker shortly after Magomedov fisted Armen Petrosyan.

Here’s how the rankings are compiled, at least until AI takes over:

Rankings are created by a voting panel made up of media members. Members of the media were asked to vote on who they believe are the best fighters in the UFC by weight class and pound for pound. A fighter can only be voted on if he is in active status in the UFC. A fighter can perform in more than one weight class at the same time. The Champion and Interim Champion are considered the top performers in their respective divisions and are therefore not selectable by weight class. However, champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.

Check out what the current rankings look like courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in the rankings, T = draw, *NR = not previously ranked).
