At the United States Grand Prix the week before the race in Mexico, Russell also encountered obstacles in qualifying, while Kimi Antonelli suffered a major blunder while deputizing for Lewis Hamilton at Monza earlier this season.
Lewis Hamilton also had a trip to the gravel trap, ending the seven-time F1 champion’s race at the US GP after just three laps, with Mercedes mechanics hard at work during the All-Americas triple-header.

“The only thing we agreed on is that we’re not racing for the championship and that means it’s not always about having the latest thing on the car.”
